The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will be an extravaganza in itself. But so will the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 opening ceremony, judging by the musical line up in store.
Bollywood actors may not been dancing to the tunes. But there will be plenty of fans judging that the likes of Canadian singer, Bryan Adams, who recently made his presence once more in India, will be on show at the venue in Bangladesh. In many ways, it only seems appropriate given that cricket and Bryan Adams feature rather prominently in the passions of fans in the sub continent.
Besides the foreign flavour, “De Gumma Ke” will see Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy take the
stage for a triple rendition in Hindi, Sinhalese and Bangali in a one of a kind scenario as also will Sonu Nigam with his own song. Also in focus will be Bangladesh singer, Runa Laila, who hit fame in Bollywood for her Bollywood numbers.
Expect the usual laser and pyrotechnics as well as a message from the UN AIDs tie up through children. Sports with a message will also see the opening ceremony attended by the fourteen cricket captains in one star studded extravaganza that is stated to be the best opening ceremony yet. The wait is not long now, as tomorrow will see that if that is indeed the case.
