National Geographic appoints ace tiger expert Krish Thapar (John Abraham) and his wife Riya (Esha Deol) to find out the reason behind the mysterious deaths caused by man-eating tigers in the past two months. Dev (Vivek Oberoi) and Ishika (Lara Dutta) with his group of friends set out for an adventure trip for the weekend. Destiny leads them towards one of India's biggest jungle for an unexpected ride. The two groups bond together but the same night the fear that revolved around the jungle comes alive.
They realize that the jungle is a city of animals which deals in the business of prey. Now starts a journey of fear, panic and trauma as death is felt in the air. The gang comes across Kali Pratap Singh (Ajay Devgan) who takes the challenge of helping them escape the jungle which has never been so alive.One of the things that strike you about the "Kaal" soundtrack is the way that everything is so fast, so quick and so desperate to be hip. It is like junk food. The more you eat junk takeaway stuff, the more you hanker after real homemade food. It is no surprise then that after listening to "Kaal", I found myself wanting to listen to real quality music. All the tracks on here are so aggressive and so overdone that you can barely tell the difference between the songs. They all mesh together in a bland melange of "hey look at me I can speak English!" songs.
