This is a story about an architect Raj Malhotra (Shahid Kapoor). He was a topper in his school and college days, but he is unable to get any clients or projects. All the things he does go wrong. Then one of his friends Hasina (Juhi Chawla) advises him that his stars are not good and he needs a lucky charm or a person who can change his life. He meets Priya (Vidya Balan) who is always ready to help others. After meeting Priya, Raj’s life changes and he is prosperous.
Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan have carried themselves well. Juhi Chawla and Om Puri are adequate. But the situations conceived and incorporated in the film do not give any actor any chance to show any histrionic talent. The performances do not enthrall the audience, but a section of it may be pleasantly amused.
The story and screenplay are too weak to make the film watch-worthy. The narration speed is at a yawning pace. Pritam’s music is mellow and very pleasing, particularly the haunting song Aai Paapi . Ahmed Khan’s choreography is very good. Binod Pradhan’s cinematography is slick and stylish.
