Story: Three chronic bachelors see their life go into a tizzy when they fall in love. It doesn't take long before they begin to miss the guy bonding and realise that girls are truly from Venus, which for them must be the most unfriendly, irrational planet in the solar system.
Movie Review: The film has an interesting premise. It tries to investigate the basic incompatibility of the yin and the yang through a set of urban yuppies who try to build and unbuild relationships in the harsh metropolis. The gender bias and miscomprehensions have an interesting twist as the three young bachelors give up their carefree camaraderie to cope with the unending demands of their girlfriends.
But so far, so good. The film has two major problems which make it somewhat tedious viewing. First, it stretches a paper-thin story to inordinate lengths and becomes a real test of patience. The plot doesn't seem to move ahead from the fight-and-make-up sequences between the three ill-matched couples. The fights become repetitive and you end up wishing they just give each other a break.... And you, a break too.
Secondly is the appalling gender skew. Okay, relationships go wrong, but is it right to blame all the misdeeds on the foul female species. Doesn't seem fair, really.
The film had promise and does have a few funny sequences. But by and large, it's a case of promises unfulfilled.

Madhu (Shefaali Shah), a much-married and terribly antsy housewife chooses to go get a life when her workaholic husband forgets her birthday. She buys herself a car and joins hands with a private detective (Rahul Bose) to help him solve his case. The adventure gets dangerous when she discovers the detective is actually a gangster on the run. Can the wife and mother return unscathed to sweet domesticity or is her life going to change forever?
The film has an interesting premise: rich, bored housewife gets attracted to lowbrow goon and is willing to go on a wild goose chase with him. Reason? She wants to bring alive all her wildest fantasies before it's too late to put her ordered, insipid life at stake and take risks....
The film also has an interesting cast with Shefaali Shah and Rahul Bose forming an unusual couple on screen. But sadly, they fail to let the sparks fly and get the chemistry crackling. All along, the attraction between them seems fake as they spend long, leisurely hours in a distant resort, eating mutton biryani and carrot juice. Does it really take a loud burp and some rustic table manners on the part of the tapori gangster to break the ice and have the Pali Hill lady humming romantic numbers?
Also, the lady seems to be so gullible and so easy to fool, it does seem unreal. It takes her eternity to realize her companion's true identity, even though the television keeps blaring out the truth. The duo try hard, but the romance never does light up the screen. Nor do the private lives of the mismatched couple throw up enticing moments that could hold the script together.
Kucch Luv Jaisaa is largely a case of promises unfulfilled.

Movie Review: It's hard to understand why Anees Bazmee makes films. There generally is no logic to it... Thank You, No Problem... But then again, it's easy to understand why Anees Bazmee makes films: to celebrate the illogical and the non-sensical which could be therapeutic for a high-stress audience. Ready, mercifully, has another reason too: Salman Khan. The film is an unabashed ode to Salman Khan, the entertainer rather than the actor. And yes, it works at that level. Sit back for a one-man show by an actor who is becoming increasingly unapologetic about his larger-than-life image on screen and you'll get all the bang for your buck you desire.
So you have Salman doing everything he loves to do -- and you love to see. He talks in cheesy dialogues, breaks into rumbustious, and extremely well choreographed songs and dances, romances the girl in brazen fashion, becomes the invincible hit machine whenever desired, never let's go of his popular family boy avatar (remember the original Prem of Maine Pyaar Kiya) and tries to make you laugh by consistently playing it over the top. And yes, he does do what he's supposed to do: removes his shirt, bares his perfectly sculpted body and vainly asks `mazaa aaya kya?'
Yup, bahut mazaa aaya. But only if you set aside all pretensions of going for a regular, mind-teaser movie. The rest of the characters too are all a crazy bunch. The umpteen men, women and boys -- you lose count of them -- speak silly, speak shrieky. The music (Pritam) plays at deafening decibel levels. The canvas and the colours of the film are garish and loud. And there isn't a moment of repose to allow you to think....
Go celebrate the cornball comic display by Salman Khan. You won't get bored.
